What is osteopathy

Osteopathy an effective, but gentle form of manual therapy that relieves pain by improving the function of the body as a whole.

Osteopathic treatment involves the gentle manipulation of the body to bring relief and improve quality of life for patients. Ostheopathy is a drug free treatment, although we often work alongside medical practitioners prescribing pain relief & anti inflammatory relief & other complementary therapists.

Cotswold Osteopaths is a vibrant, family practice based in the Cotswolds, and Jane Hartley and Guy Beresford pride themselves on being able to make a difference for patients of all ages. “To date, our youngest patient was just seven days old, and the eldest, one hundred and three years old. We are able to help such a diverse age group by using a variety of techniques from cranial-sacral osteopathy to manipulation, massage and exercise advice wherever appropriate.”

Jane Hartley DO and Guy Beresford DO qualified after training for four years at the British School of Osteopathy, London and are fully registered with the GOsC (General Osteopathic Council).

Viraj Gopaul BSc (Hons) Ost is also an experienced member of our team, qualifying from the European School of Osteopathy in 1992.

Jane and Guy are recognised by most major insurance schemes.

We have treated patients in the Cotswolds including Cheltenham, Bourton-on-the-Water and Evesham, for the last twenty nine years. The practice has evolved in specialising with acute muscle and joint problems, attempting to see most patients on the day that they telephone.
